How to Apply via Bilateral Agreement?

Bilkent has exchange agreements (Bilateral Agreements List) with several major universities in the world. Some of the exchange agreements are limited to certain departments however most allow students to choose courses from all faculties and schools at the University.

If your home university has an exchange agreement with Bilkent University, you are invited to apply to BU as an exchange student.

To apply as an exchange student;

  • You should be a full-time student at your home university.
  • Your university must nominate you.
  • You should submit the online application form along with all the enclosures no later than the application deadline.

If you wish to study at Bilkent University as an exchange student, you should contact your home university first. Students who are nominated by their home institutions have to submit online application with all other accompanying enclosures* by May 30, if students wish to apply for the Fall semester or for the full academic year, and by November 30, if students wish to apply for the Spring semester.

The Fall and Spring semester offerings may not be finalized at the day of your application, however checking previous Fall and Spring semester offerings will help you decide. To check the previous semester offerings, please click on "Offerings" section and change it to the semester that you are interested in attending.

Bilkent University is an English medium University. Therefore, applicants whose native language is not English are required to provide a proof of their proficiency in English by presenting a letter issued by their home University International Office indicating that they can follow the courses in English.
